Books I’ve Read   Leave a comment

My friend Judy said she keeps track of what books she’s read. I need to start. And I am, now.

Summer 2010 I have read:

Alexander McCall Smith’s books. Love them! Portuguese Irregular Verbs killed me. I then went on to his series on the Number 1 Ladies Detective Agency. I am on book 6 now, I think. I have also been reading lots of children’s books, such as the 39 Clues series and others that are escaping me right now.

Summer 2009 I have read:

Walk Two Moons-Sharon Creech-loved it

Fearless-Elvira Woodruff-loved it

Sammy Keyes and the Runaway Elf-Wendelin Van Draanen-not so much

The Heart is a Lonely Hunter-Carson McCullers-fabulous book

On Agate Hill-Lee Smith-loved it

This fall, 2009, I read

The Lace Reader by Brunonia Barry- very interesting, entertaining book

About here, I read several James Patterson books but not sure which ones.

Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson-loved this book!

Cry, My Beloved Country by Alan Paton-one of my favorite books ever

Read Pretty Birds by Scott Simon- Awesome read. I will never again think of Serbia and Bosnia in the same way!

The Last Secret by Mary McGarry Morris-powerful book about secrets and the human condition.

Just read The Help By Kathryn Stockett-finished this wonderful book 12/28/09.

Just finished Beach Road by James Patterson 1/9/10

Fall on Your Knees by Ann-Marie MacDonald 1/28/10. I loved this book.

The Center of Everything by Laura Moriarty-This book was so sweet. The ending left me a little flat though.

2/17/10 Currently reading The Alchemist by by Paulo Coelho-finished 2/27/10

Twilight by Stephanie Meyers. Book was interesting but oh man, what a poor writer. Good story though.

Sold by Patricia McCormick was a fast read. Because I am volunteering in a high school library in April, I asked for a book list for young adults in case I’m asked. That is why the change in genre.

Crank 2/28/10 Just finished this one. Depressing journal-type book about a teenage meth addict.

Just finished PURE by Terra Elan McVoy and I did not like it one bit. I only finished it because I was hoping it would get better. It didn’t.
